Windshield condition for Tech

Postby JACKHOLE » Sat Jan 18, 2014 4:46 pm

I have slight blemish on my windshield and wondered what conditions of the windshield would cause tech problems?

From a safety standpoint, does it interfere with your vision in any way? If it is in a corner or edge, I wouldn't worry about it. If it is in your line of sight it could be an issue. Remember you might look out different parts of the windshield in an autocross than everyday driving so take that into account. FWIW I've run several national events with a crack across the lower part of mine and it never raised concern.

Thanks for your response. I have a couple of small chips and a crack across the bottom of my windshield. They are not in my line of vision and I have been driving with them for the last couple of years with no issues. I plan to replace the windshield at some point in the future but wanted clarification on the urgency for autox.
