Dear Fellow Nebraska Region SCCA Members,
With the horrors going on around the World and especially in Ukraine, I felt I should reach out to my fellow Autocrossers and Racers in the Nebraska Region, because over the years we this close knit group has donated our time and money to help those
less fortunate than us. When one finally retires, you do find a bit more time on your hands and since I missed the interaction I was fortunate to have with some Marketing Folks in the Automotive Industry I kept wondering how I could help the Club contribute to the immense need of this horrendous crisis. Since a few folks believe I have a somewhat wacky sense of humor ( unfortunately true ) I was wondering what we could do that was fun for members, would be reminder of their contribution, but still be in the automotive vein of the hobbies we all love so much. To that end I have come up with a decal everyone can place on their car or tow vehicle that will highlight what many of us enjoy doing on our weekends.
The decals will also bring one a remembrance of why each individual’s funds were spent to acquire them, and all the monies made initially, will go through the Nebraska Region and be sent to a notable Charity helping with the displaced, hungry , wounded and impacted child
ren and families in this war torn Country. I am suggesting the money raised go to the World Central Kitchen, whose chefs feed 300,000 Ukrainians daily, but the choice is entirely up to the Board. I am suggesting the minimum amount for two decals be $10, though you can definitely contribute more, and for those already mounted on magnetic vinyl a minimum requested donation would be $20. You will need to bring cash to the Sunday Solo Event, or write a check to the Nebraska Region of the SCCA. There are only 50 Decals done, at present, and I am donating all the cost of production, so whatever is raised 100% will go to a Ukrainian Charity. If more are requested I can have many more made and I hope you like this idea, as I felt it embodied the fun group of Coneheads we have in our part of the Heartland. Future decals can continue to help those in this tragic war, and I think we will all feel some small comfort in doing something that may contribute to the defeat of this insane Russian aggression.
Respectfully,
Bill Pemberton
