Discussion of rental fee for the Nebraska City site. Meeting with owner to discuss.
Dear Board and RX Leaders, (From the RE’s email message sent June 18) It looks like everything is in place for Sunday’s RallyCross in Nebraska City. The site owner does not want us to advertise or list the site in connection with his name, so we are calling it the “Nebraska City Rally Bowl.” At least for now.
The site owner has already been doing grading and shaping – he has a nice tractor with a blade – so that we will be able to lay out fun and safe courses.
There will likely be more site work to expand the course design options. Like I-80, the new site will require regular maintenance as well.
The board will need to come to an agreement with the site owner for rental and upkeep. When we visited the site we went over the logistics of events, insurance, and future plans.
I told the site owner what we had been paying I-80 per event day and that I would work with the board on an appropriate plan for rental and maintenance. Site maintenance is the main consideration. The site owner is willing to do that, with our help, but he will need to buy gasoline for the tractor and a proper pair of farmer’s overalls. June 21 was first RallyCross at new site. Things went well.
Couple of complaints that the course was rough. This will be worked on with the site owner, to tone down the roughness..
