Discussions Included

RallyCross

New event added to the schedule is a 1 day Divisional Championship Event on October 24th. There is a possibility of this event becoming a 2-day event. Discussion about the National Championship possibly coming to I-80 Speedway for the 2011 year was discussed.

Club Racing

Discussed money lost from the first two MVRG events of the year along with generalized decrease in club racing nationwide. Discussed combining schools with race weekends in order to increase the number of schools and decreasing the cost. Thought was generally well received by membership.

Possibility of starting time trials to encourage cross participation between solo and club racing programs as well as provide a logical progression into club racing.

Hastings club race on October 2nd and 3rd registration will be open shortly.

Solo

Concern regarding the cancellation of Nebraskhana was brought up. Reason for cancellation was lack of entries. Some suggestions to maintain and increase registration online were to make registration open a month before the event, and a direct link to registration should be posted on the NRSCCA homepage.

Another suggestion made to increase number of entrants in general were to maintain consistency of the events such as always having grid spots. A suggestion was received to make it to where open class and ladies numbers could be the same. This suggestion is under review by registration programmer.

Holding events with other clubs such as the BMW club and Porshe club were discussed.

Promotion of events and reviving 2-day mandatory both days events were discussed as well.

Open Discussion

The new trailer’s scheduled completion date is August 27th. Regional Executive Mark Walker will be driving to Indiana to pick it up. The hope is to have it for divisionals. Storage of the trailer may be at the old Greg Young building where it will live inside a garage during the winter. The storage arrangements are not yet set in stone.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:15p.m.
