Candidates for 2021 BoG Election
Steve Ducharme
I have been an active member of Nebraska Region SCCA since 2007. That year, I had my first taste of sports-car completion, driving a stock 1993 Miata at a Nebraska Region autocross event at Lincoln Southwest High School and continue to compete regularly in regional, divisional, and national autocross events. I have also been competing regularly in RallyCross since 2010, and in time trials competition on several occasions since 2016.
I took on my first leadership role with the club as RallyCross chair in 2012, where I organized regional and divisional competitions and played a major role in the organization of the 2014 SCCA RallyCross National Championships in 2014. I also served on the SCCA National Championships organizing committed from 2017 to 2019. The next major step was election to serve on the Nebraska Region Board of Governors from 2014 to the present. I moved from Chair of RallyCross to Activities Director in 2015. The Board then chose me to serve as Regional Executive beginning in 2018 and I continue to serve at their pleasure.
I am fortunate to serve an active motorsports club founded more than 65 years ago that has been, and continues to be, served by an outstanding group of leaders and members. As an active club member and in my leadership roles, I have helped to plan, promote and operate our various competition, social, and service activities. I would be happy to continue serving the club as a member of the Board and in other roles for years to come. Therefore, I ask you to vote for me to continue my term on the Nebraska Region SCCA Board of Governors for the next two years.
Todd Reznicek
I have been a member of the Nebraska Region for the last 8 years. Primarily have only done autocross. I think I hold the record for racing the most different cars in that time period (7 cars-7 different classes). I am currently a member of the solo team and recently got my trials license thanks to John Hunter taking pity on me. I am also in charge of the Street Survival School for the region. I was nominated for the board by Steve, obviously I did something bad to him and he is trying to punish me now. My greatest SCCA accomplishment is taking 3rd place in a local rallycross race driving a Subaru Forester which should be banned forever from any SCCA competition (horrible vehicle, sorry Subie owners). In my spare time I like dirt farming and am prolific in my ability to grow weeds in my yard.
Mark Walker
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Mark Walker and I’ve been a member of the Nebraska Region for 33 years. In those 33 years, I’ve been involved in the administration of the region in all competition areas, a competitor in Solo, RallyCross, and Road Rally. I’ve worked as a Club Racing Steward and organizer. I was one of the Nebraska Region members that helped build the two tracks in our region footprint, Raceway Park of the Midlands, and Motorsport Park Hastings. I was instrumental in bringing the Solo National Championship to our region in 2009 and maintain the relationship with SCCA and the Lincoln Airpark. But that’s what I’ve done in the past. For the future, the Region needs to work towards revitalizing our Club Racing program and maintaining our relationship to other clubs, the SCCA National Office and the Lincoln Airpark. With my extensive background and contacts, I am the perfect person to assist in these efforts. If you have any questions about my background or my plans, please don’t hesitate to contact me on my cell, 402-968-3282. I will be glad to discuss the state of the Region and where I believe we need to go to continue our success. I ask for your vote for the Board of Governors and look forward to serving the Nebraska Region for many years. Thank you for your attention.
Dave Zitzlsperger
I have been a member of the Region since 1985. I run primarily Solo events, but also ran most Road Rally events when we used to have them regularly. I have worked Tech at races at RPM. I have designed a few Solo courses. For several years, I also worked Tech at Solos. I am a member of the NRSCCA History team. I am currently the Region Secretary. And I am also the Regions representative on the MiDiv Solo Committee.
I have won the Workers Cup and the Byer’s Memorial trophies. I have also won the Woody Dunn Memorial and the Wilson Memorial trophies as part of the History team.
I enjoy working the the other members of the Board of Governors and the Officers, to help keep the Nebraska Region moving in a forward direction. Having been around for a few years, and seen many things come and go with the Club, I feel I have a little broader perspective on some things in the Club, compared to some of our newer members. I am always in favor of new ideas, but sometimes being able to look back at previous ideas helps guide things in a forward direction.
Thank You for your consideration.
