The meeting was called to order by Regional Executive Mark Walker at 8:07 pm.
LOCATION: Action Signs, 4425 S. 50th Street, (50th & L Streets), Omaha, NE.
IN ATTENDANCE:
Board members: Mark Walker, Ann LaRandeau, John Becker, Stan Cisar, Matt McCabe. John LaRandeau was absent, but gave his proxy to Ann LaRandeau for this meeting. Others in attendance: Tom Riss, Teresa Riss, Chuck Garcia, Jim Stoddard, John Pecoraro, Jerry Doctor, Jan Gerber and Candy Gerber
Secretary’s Report
Secretary Ann LaRandeau handed out minutes from the last meeting. The minutes were reviewed. Motion to approve the minutes, Becker/Walker, approved by all.
Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer John LaRandeau was not in attendance. Ann LaRandeau handed out copies of the checking and savings accounts. The reports were reviewed. Motion to approve the treasurer’s report, McCabe/Becker, approved by all.
Social
Teresa discussed the awards banquet in January. There was discussion on the price to charge for the dinner at the banquet. Motion to charge the members $20 per person, Walker/Becker, approved by all. Mark passed out samples of the invitations. There was a discussion on the cost of printing the invitations and programs, postage and the cake and plates. Motion to budget $350 for all of the above, McCabe/Becker, approved by all.
Ann LaRandeau brought samples of a helmet bag and a jacket that could be used for year end awards. Motion to have the award winners select their award from - a helmet bag, jacket or a shirt. All awards would be embroidered with names and class, McCabe/Walker, approved by all. A motion to have a limit of $35 per person for the year end awards, Walker/John LaRandeau, by proxy, passed unanimous.
Jerry Doctor handed out pages with year end points for Solo, Activity Points and Driver of the Year. There is one more RallyCross before RallyCross points can be tallied. The top 10 people with Activity Points will receive a trophy. Ann will check with SPS on ideas for the trophies. Jerry commented there will be a change in the point system for next year. That will be discussed at a later date.
RallyCross
Stan reported on a new site that we may be able to use. Mark will contact them and get more information. Last Rallycross this year, November 15th at MAM or possibly the new site. Jerry commented that it would be nice if we could have the sanction paperwork in on time.
Solo
No discussion.
Competition
Jim Stoddard reported on the schedule for 2010. There is still discussion on the number of events to be held and at what locations. A poll of competitors and workers is considered to help work this out. Colorado is interested in co-hosting a race at MPH. Chris Safranek’s term is up this year. Chris may remain on the MVRG board if necessary. Jan Gerber volunteered to be on the Race Trophy committee for competition. All agreed this would be good.
Old Business
Mark will email copies of what has been completed on the Policy and Procedures Manual to board members. No news on the trailer at this time. Candy will check on ordering new event trophies for our local events. It was decided to use the medallions again with a possible change on the design.
New Business
The November Board of Governors meeting will be held November 19th (a week early) because of Thanksgiving. There was a discussion on when to hand out the Participant Evaluation Report forms (PER). At Rallycross, they could be handed out at the end of the event. For Solo, they could be handed out at the end of the last heat or the last run. Also, discussion on having a person write times to hand to the drivers as they leave the course. More on this later. Everyone was reminded to make nominations for the Woody Dunn and Workers Cup before the next meeting. The Wilson Sponsor Cup year end award is decided by the Board. The votes were counted for the new Board of Governors. Three positions were open. Chuck Garcia, Mark Jorgensen and Mark Walker will be on the new Board of Governors.
