This trophy presented to Nebraska Region's top Gymkhana (Solo) Driver.
The winner is decided by accumulation of points from designated events throughout the year, in addition to points awarded for finishing position at Divisional and National Championship events.
The points system has been changed so many times over the years that we can't imagine trying to have all the systems listed here. For an explanation of the current points system, please go to: nrscca.com.
Over the years the events evolved and so did the trophy. Instead of Gymkhana events, the Region began holding autocross (Solo) events.
Gymkhana events feature obstacles such as cones, tires, and barrels. The driver must maneuver through a predetermined course performing reversals, 180 degree spins, 360 degree spins, parking boxes, figure eights, and other advanced skills.
An AutoCross (Solo) is a timed competition in which drivers navigate one at a time through a defined course on a hard surface. Autocross differs from road racing in that generally there is only one car on the track, racing against the clock rather than other cars. Courses may be temporary and marked by traffic cones or be permanent tracks.
Events have many classes that allow almost any vehicle to compete. Speeds are generally slower when compared to other forms of motorsports, usually not exceeding highway speeds, but the activity level (measured in discrete turns per minute) can be higher than Formula One due to the large number of elements packed into each course.
