Nebraska Majors Driver of the Year

Majors

Purpose

The Nebraska Majors Driver of the Year is awarded annually to the outstanding licensed competition driver who is eligible to compete in the National Runoffs.

How it is awarded

Any Nebraska driver eligible for competing in the runoffs will be eligible for the Nebraska Majors Driver of the Year trophy.

If no Nebraska driver is eligible to compete at this level, no trophy is awarded. If there is only one driver eligible to compete at the runoffs, that driver receives the trophy automatically. Multiple Nebraska drivers competing in the runoffs in any given year will be decided by the number and quality of points earned.

All Mid-Am and National points earned will be counted towards earning this trophy. It is not intended that drivers who compete at the runoffs would be eligible for the Nebraska Club Race Driver of the Year.

History of the Trophy

The Nebraska Majors Driver of the Year replaces the previously awarded National Competition Driver trophy due to changes made to club racing at a national level.

It was decided to keep the National Competition Driver trophy as the Majors Driver Trophy (no new trophy was started) due to the history of winners engraved upon the trophy.
