The Workers Cup recognizes the outstanding worker (or workers) at Regional events during the past year. It is not necessarily presented each year.
Recipients are determined by a vote of the Region's Board of Governors, however, Nebraska Region members are allowed to submit nominations.
Generally speaking, Region officers are not considered for this award for doing the job they were elected to do. However, if an officer goes so far beyond his/her job description that they are deemed worthy of recognition by the Board, the Workers Cup can be awarded to that individual.
This honor can go to more than one person or a group of members who consistently work together during the year.
This trophy was originally the Governors Cup. It was repurposed as the Workers Cup in 1981 when the new governor decided to discontinue the award.
In 2014 the trophy was redesigned to accommodate more names of winners. The photo on the Governor's Cup page reflects the trophy's original appearance.
