The Powder Puff Trophy was presented to a wife, a girlfriend, or a female member of Nebraska Region that earned the most activity points.
The trophy began in 1957 and continued until 1972 when it was retired to Helena Miller, who had won it the most.
At the time this trophy was retired it was felt that if the ladies were good enough to run events, they were good enough to run against the men in the open classes. Separate ladies classes returned after 1972, but the trophy was never reinstated.
This is not an actual photograph of the Powder Puff Trophy. Helena Miller moved out of state many years ago and took the trophy with her.
This image is a rendering made from extracting part of the image from an old photo of Helena holding the trophy and our resident artist (Patt Buell) filled in the bits that were not visible in the photo. Thanks Patt!
