Regional Competition Driver of the Year (retired)

Regional Competition

Purpose

This trophy was awarded annually to the outstanding regionally licensed competition driver.

How it was awarded

Like many of the other annual trophies, the Regional Competition Driver had several methods for determining the winner over the years.*

(*Please see the George Gunther Memorial Trophy for the last method of determining the winner and for winners from 1994 to 2014.)

History

The Outstanding Regional Competition Driver Trophy was originally created in 1975.

In 1994 it became the George Gunther Memorial Trophy. George had been a member of SCCA since April of 1956.
